Content not working? Read this …

Creating content that is relevant and engaging for your audience is crucial to the success of any marketing campaign. However, sometimes, despite your best efforts, your content just doesn’t work. It can be frustrating, but there are often clear reasons why this is the case. Here’s some examples:

1. You don't know what your audience wants: If you don't know what your customer wants/needs, you're probably not creating content that caters directly to them. Deeper audience research is a must when ideating and creating content.

2. Your strategy isn't optimised (or doesn't exist at all): Even if you're posting the greatest content ever, without a strategy behind it, you're going to see little to no results - or if you do see results, they won't be sustainable.

3. You have low-quality content: You really need to be honest with yourself here. If you're posting consistently and have a strategic plan outlined, but nothing is happening, low quality content might be to blame. This could mean that it is poorly written, contains grammatical errors, or lacks a clear structure. If your content is difficult to read or understand, your audience will quickly lose interest.

4. Lack of originality: In today's crowded digital space, it can be challenging to create truly original content. However, if your content feels too familiar or generic, it may not capture your audience's attention. Try to find a unique angle or approach to your topic to make your content stand out.

5. Inconsistent messaging: If your content is not consistent with your brand's messaging or tone of voice, it may confuse or alienate your audience. Make sure that your content aligns with your brand's values and voice to ensure that it resonates with your target audience.

6. Poor promotion: Even the best content won't get the attention it deserves if it isn't properly promoted. Make sure that you are promoting your content through the appropriate channels and using the right messaging to reach your target audience.

7. Lack of engagement: Finally, your content may not be working because it is not engaging your audience. This could mean that it lacks visual interest, is too long or dense, or fails to spark an emotional response. Try to create content that is visually appealing and emotionally resonant to capture your audience's attention.

But - hold on - take a breath - you are not alone and you can absolutely make changes that will help turn it around. And look - we get it - social media management is a beast, and a complex one at that. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and need a bit of help wading through it all we’re always happy to chat.
